Citizen Centric Optimal Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Locations in a Full City: Case of Malaga

This article presents the problem of locating electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in a city by defining Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Locations (EV-CSL) problem. The idea is to minimize distance citizens have travel charge their vehicles. EV-CSL takes into account maximum number install and power requirements. Two metaheuristics are applied address relying optimization problem: genetic algorithm (GA) variable neighborhood search (VNS). experimental analysis over realistic scenario Malaga city, Spain, shows that able find competitive solutions which dramatically improve actual installation Malaga. GA provided statistically best results.
